Coonrod S. Coon and Barbara Radabaugh: Coonrod S. Coon was born in 1803 in Virginia [now West Virginia]. He and Barbara removed from Harrison county, Virginia [now West Virginia] in 1835 and settled in northeastern Hancock county, Indiana. They had ten known children, nine boys and one girl, who settled in various areas of Hancock, Henry, and Madison counties, Indiana. Coonrod S. Coon was a resident of Brown township, Hancock county, Indiana at his death in 1861.

John Koon and Catharine [-?-]: John Koon was born in Virginia [possibly in the area which is now West Virginia] in about the year 1775. He married a woman named Catharine. He removed to Ohio [possibly Belmont county] between 1806 and 1812. He removed again to Henry county, Indiana between 1830 and 1833. John Koon had at least eight children, most of whom settled in east central Indiana.

Abram Coon and Mary Slocum: Abram and Mary (Slocum) Coon's son Absalom Koon was born in Virginia [possibly in the area which is now West Virginia] in 1822. His first wife Caroline (-?-) Koon was born in North Carolina, and his second wife Mary Jane (Dille) Koon, daughter of Brice Dille, was born in Indiana. Absalom Koon had removed to Indiana by the year 1840. It is not known yet whether he removed with his parents or set out on his own at the age of 18.

Abram Coon and Amelia Knight: Abram Coon was born circa 1798 in Virginia and married Amelia Knight in Henry county, Indiana in 1835. It is not known whether he is the same Abram Coon who had married Mary Slocum. Little is know of this family to date, but more will be added as it is found.

Mark Coon and wives Elizabeth Byrkit, Susan [-?-], and Martha (Bowman) Pitts: Mark Coon was born in [West] Virginia in 1809. His first known marriage was in Henry county, Indiana in 1833 to Elizabeth Byrkit, who died in 1856. He married again to a woman named Susan, and she died in 1870. His final marriage was to Martha (Bowman) Pitts, with whom he had no children. He had a total of eleven known children. Research on this family has just begun, and more will be added as it is found.

Davault Koons and Susan Dicks: Davault Koons was born in Pennsylvania in the first half of the 18th century. He had at least three children: George Koons, John Koons, and Gasper Koons. Nothing yet is known of George and John. The focus on this page is currently on his son Gasper Koons who was a member of the Society of Friends (Quaker) and who removed from Randolph county, North Carolina to Wayne county, Indiana in the year 1808. Some of Gasper Koons' children resided in Henry county, Indiana.

George Koons and Mary Eller: George Koons was born circa 1786 in North Carolina. His relationship to the above mentioned Davault Koons has not been confirmed by this author, but according to the documented web site Koontz Genealogy by Kenneth Frank Doig, who has researched this line, George Koons is the son of Gasper and Mercy (Presnall) Koons, and grandson of Davault and Susan (Dicks) Koons. He had at least eleven children, some of whom settled in Henry county, Indiana. He resided in Blue River township, Henry county, Indiana at his death.
