    ...Mark Coon died Friday night of dropsy. He had been in poor health for about two months. The funeral was preached Monday at the Friends church by Elder D. W. Campbell, of the Christian church, after which he was laid to rest in the Harlan cemetery by the side of his wife who died in August. Mr. Coon was sixty-seven years old.

    F. W. Forbes, and wife, of Charlottesville, attended the funeral of Mark Coon Monday. Mr. Coon worked ten years for Mr. Forbes in the sawmill here.

    Jonathan Coon, of Cumberland, who had been at the bedside of his brother, Mark Coon, for a week past, returned home Wednesday, taking with him a monster sweet potato that weighed five pounds and five ounces. The potato was raised by Bub Yountz.

    The two-year-old child of Bub Yountz, north of Shirley, died Sunday night with flux. The funeral took place at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Harlan church, Elder Campbell officiating. Mrs. Yountz is a daughter of Mark Coon, who died Friday, but was unable to attend her father's funeral on account of the sickness and death of her child....
