He was Lee's notes say William and Margaret Thompson (children of Margaret) are adopted. Margaret's notes never mentioned this fact though. He was adopted in 1927. He lived circa 1969 in Walnut Creek, California.²⁷⁶

LTC John Robert⁵ Stewart (Emma-Jane Muriel⁴Hollinshead, George Leland³, Joshua L.², John¹)^277,278 was born on 5 Oct 1929 in St. Maries, Benewah County, Idaho.^279,280 He married Sharon Sue Machgan, daughter of Fay A. Machgan and Mrs. Fay A. (Machgan), on 12 Mar 1954 in Bremerton, Kitsap County, Washington.^281,282 He and Sharon Sue Machgan were divorced on 3 Jul 1959 in Bremerton, Kitsap County, Washington. He married Helga Gisela Gollnow, daughter of Unknown (--?--) and Helene Margerete Freidank, on 28 Dec 1963 in Reno, Nevada.²⁸³ He and Helga Gisela Gollnow were divorced on 1 Feb 1971 in Berlin, Germany.²⁸⁴ He died on 15 Jan 1992 in Es Castelle, Menorca, Baeleric Islands, Spain, at age 62.²⁸⁵ He was buried in the local cemetery, Es Castelle, Menorca, Spain.

"When a friendly force was ambushed by the Viet Cong while moving along a highway, Major Stewart's aircraft immediately proceeded to the scene of the action and began reporting enemy movements to the friendly ground commander. After the regular forward air controller developed radio trouble, Major Stewart assumed the duties of the controller and for over two hours continuously directed air strikes against the communist forces. With intense ground fire directed at all of the aircraft one Air Force fighter was disabled and the pilot was forced to eject over hostile territory. Disregarding personal safety, Major Stewart and his pilot proceeded to the area in which the downed pilot had landed and after locating him they continued to circle the area, though extremely low on fuel, providing protective fire until rescue aircraft arrived. Major Stewart's professional competence and calm observations while subjected to heavy insurgent fire contributed significantly to the success of the ground operation and the saving of an American pilot's life. Major Stewart's heroic actions were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Army and reflect great credit upon himself and the military service;".³⁰³ He was commended for his participation in the Duc Co Victory, along with "all the units of Operation Dan Thang 7 which caused heavy losses of casualties and weapons of the enemy highlighting the honor of the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces" Sub-Brigadier General Cao Hao Hon certified that he was worthy of being praised by the Lieutenant General, Chairman of the National Leadership Committee on 3 Sep 1965 in Republic of Vietnam. Lieutenant-Colonel, U.S. Army, 20 Feb 1968.³⁰⁴ He spent two weeks in the Sea Orientation Course in 1969.³⁰⁵
He was was awarded the Legion of Merit on 10 May 1970 for "exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service while serving as Executive Officer, Combined Intelligence Center Vietnam, giving order and efficiency to the largest combined intelligence organization ever fielded by the United States military forces" between Jun 1969 and May 1970 in Republic of Vietnam.³⁰⁶ He served between 24 Jun 1969 and 27 Jun 1970 in Republic of Vietnam.³⁰⁷

Voyle Charles⁵ Thorne (Lillie Adelia⁴Willis, May (Miriam) Amanda³Knight, Julia Ann²Hollinshead, John¹) was born on 27 Jun 1913 in Hayes Township, York County, Nebraska.³²¹ He married Eleanor Ingeborg Rosenberg on 23 Feb 1936 in North Platte, Nebraska. He died on 4 Jun 1974 in 7 miles South of North Platte, Nebraska, at age 60. He died of a massive coronary, while at work on a new house at Lake Maloney, 7 miles South of North Platte, Lincoln County, Nebraska. He was 60 years, 11 months & 7 days old. He simply hated doctors andd not had a thorough physical since he had gone to work for Douglas Aircraft, during WWII. Yes, I'd call that stubborn.^322,323 He was buried in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, North Platte, Nebraska. Music was his life. Eleanor asked the Musician's Union to provide Pallbearers. Most were lifelong friends.³²⁴

Voyle was an accomplished musician, tenor sax, clarinet, vibraphones and guitar. Lifetime member Musicians Union. Very talented home builder. As father amd husband he was superb.³²⁵ His Social Security Number was 506-18-1804 issued in Nebraska.³²⁶ The 2 witnesses at their Wedding were Eleanor's 1st cousin Vivian Estergard-Mann & her Husband Milton Mann. They were married at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Platte, Nebraska. He graduated on 29 May 1934 in North Platte, Nebraska, from Voyle graduated from North Platte Senior High School in 1934, 2 years late due to illnesses.³²⁷ He registered for the draft on 16 Oct 1940 in North Platte, Nebraska.³²⁸
