"While the specifics of the intervening generations may not be exactly correct, the line is likely true in principle. In the years between the early Roman Empire and the Crusades, Armenia and the other Caucasian states were on the frontier between the various permutations of the Roman Empire and the various rulers of Persia and Mesopotamia, the Parthians and Sassanians and then the Omayyad abd Abbasid Caliphs. Caught between these two giant millstones the various princely families of the Causasian states led precarious lives attempting to balance these constantly warring neighbors against each other. The histories and genealogies of these many princedoms and families are sporadic and in many cases incomplete. Nevertheless, I believe they represent, through their ties to the East Roman Empire, the best link between the dynasties of Medieval Europe and those of Antiquity. The Mamikonids, an ancient and noble Armenian family, doubtless intermarried with others of the ancient Armenian families, namely the Gregorids, Bagratids and Kamasarkans among others."
Also called Theodosia Karan-Pahlavid. Theodocia Kamsarakan was born circa 750. She was the daughter of Arschavier Kamsarakan.2 Theodocia Kamsarakan married Leo V "the Armenian", basileus Rhomaiôn, son of Bardas Gnuni, before 765.2 Theodocia Kamsarakan died in 791.

He was martyred of poison in the prison of Harun al-Rashid.1,2 Musa al-Kadhim ibn Ja'far, 7th Holy Imam of Islam was buried in Kazimiyyah, Iraq.2 Musa represents a split of the Shî'a, in which his brother, the real 7th Imam, Ismâ'îl, is rejected by much of the community. Musa's line continued to down to a 12th Imam, and are known as the Twelvers. This collateral line ended with the Twelfth Imâm, who disappeared in 878. Although probably kidnapped and murdered by the Abbasid Caliph, he was believed by his followers to have gone into deathless "Occultation," preparing to return as the "Rightly Guided One," the Mahdî, to usher in the Apocalypse. In time, this Twelver Shî'ism was used by the Safavids to establish a durable national monarchy in Irân.3

The name "Machir," comes from Genesis 50:23, used by R. Machir, in Iraq, and Narbonne, France; 8th-9th century.2 Theodoric I of Septimania was received by Charlemagne and was given the title "King of the Jews".3 His ancestry is possibly one of the greatest lineages of antiquity. Theodoric, claimed (or others do for him) descent not only from the Merovingian Kings, but lineal descent from King David himself. Both the king and the Pope acknowledged this pedigree. Also called Makhir Natronai ben Habibi the Resh Galuta.4 Exilarch of Narbonne at Septimania.5 Also called Rabbi Makir ha-David.3 Also called Dietrich. He was born circa 720 at Babylonia, Persian Empire. He was the son of Habibai beni David (David Descent Tradition).1 Theodoric I of Septimania married Alda des Francs, daughter of Carolus Martellus, dux Francorum and Chrothais , a concubine, before 740.6,7 Count in 742.8 "The evidence is sketchy and muddled at this distance, but a persistant account of Theodoric I has it that he was the Jewish Exilarch in Narbonne, and that he succeeded in establishing a regionally autonomous Jewish-led state around Narbonne. Makhir has been identified as being Makhir Natronai, Resh Galuta in Baghdad, ousted from that position by a cousin in 771. If true, it would be a matter of considerable interest; the Baghdad Exilarchs were reputed to be lineal descendents of the ancient Hebrew King David. What is fairly clear is that Septimania achieved an independent position in this era by some means or other, with the status of a Duchy or even possibly a Kingdom."9 Theodoric I of Septimania was living between 771 and 793.7 He was sent by Haroun Al-Rashid, Calif of Baghdad to Charlemagne, King of the West at his request, who wanted to establish in Europe a middle class based on a Jewish nucleus between 786 and 793.3,10 He died before 804.11
