Cordis Waldon Cobb Family Cordis Waldon Cobb was born in Slaughters, KY on June 3, 1906. He was the oldest son of Georgia (Crowley) and Charlie W. Cobb. Charlie died on March 31, 1910, leaving his widow to care for his three young children, Cordis, Mabel and Charles. Cordis left Webster County as a young man, first settling in Detroit, MI. In 1937, Cordis came to Chicago, IL to stay with Georgia and her husband, Timothy Fitzgerald.

Cordis married Jeanette VanSteenberg and made Chicago his home. He is shown with his wife and son Michael in the summer of 1948. The baby in the picture, Michael Alan Cobb, is the father of Lynn Cobb-Alvarez
