When Ashton Lewis took the children back to Virginia, Pete Wunderlie was to follow by train with Luther's little puppy. At a rest stop along the way, Pete let the dog get off to run and the puppy never returned. At the age of 87, after spotting Pete Wunderlie in this picture, Luther Lewis vowed that even after all that time, he would still like to sock Pete in the nose for losing his puppy!
If anyone knows where this picnic spot was, with all the rock formations in the background, please get in touch with Marilyn Phegley.
