Edwin A. Wiley, father of Mary Wiley and Tina Wiley, was the son of Wilkerson Wiley and Hannah Trusty. Wilkerson Wiley was the son of Patrick Wiley and Catherine Branson who was the daughter of Amos Branson and Hannah Timmons. Hannah Timmons' mother was Rose Ashby (daughter of Stephen Ashby of the VA Ashbys) and Hannah's father was Capt. George Timmons.Virginia Arabell "Belle" Jones, the mother of Mary Wiley was the daughter of Wiley Jones and Dorcas Liles. The parents of Dorcas Liles-Jones were John Liles, b 1781 NC, and Dorcas Land, b 1782 SC. Both are reputed to be of Cherokee descent.
Wiley Jones parents were Richard Jones and Lavinia Sugg and the family was originally from NC. Richard Jones obtained a land grant and the family settled in the Jones Stand area on Highland Creek in what was once Henderson County but became Webster in 1860. *See reference below.
Wiley Jones's grandmother on his father's side was Sarah Patience Jones. She is in the early Henderson County (1820) census as head of household.
