Jeremiah Ashley married Elizabeth (Lizzy) Prow 24 May 1882 in Webster Co KY. Lizzy was the daughter of Joseph Prow and Margaret Luvenia Majors and was born about 1866 in Webster County. Joann is seeking a photo of Elizabeth (Lizzy) Prow who were her great-grandparents.

Jeremiah and Lizzy Ashley had 12 children:
  1. Minnie Ashley b 28 Feb 1885; she married three times. 1) James Stone; 2) Richard Turner; and 3) J.L. Turner.
  2. Ruby M. Ashley b 1887; he married Bessie Gibson in 1911. He died 9 Jan 1956 and is buried at Woodland Cemetery in Union Co KY.
  3. Gertrude Ashley b 20 June 1891; she married Major Lee Higgs 30 Oct 1907. She died 24 Jun 1948 and is buried at Shady Grove Cemetery in Webster Co KY.
  4. Maybelle Ashley b 28 May 1893; she married Eddie Green Owens 2 Aug 1911 Union Co KY. She died 10 Nov 1984 and buried at Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson Co KY.
  5. Mabel E. Ashley b 1894.
  6. Winnie A. Ashley, Joann's grandmother, b 20 Mar 1895; died 29 Jan 1969 and is buried at Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson Co KY. She married Reuben Adam Powell 24 Nov 1911. Reuben was the son of William Riley Powell and Catherine Turner.
  7. Alvis G. Ashley b 1899. He married 1) Mattie Francis Sigler in 1922 and 2) Marie Bradley in 1927. He died 29 Jul 1977 in Ruston, IN.
  8. Dessie Lorraine Ashley b 20 Jun 1900; died 26 Jan 1968 and is buried at Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson KY. She married 1) Willie Turner in 1913 and, 2) James Madden.
  9. Bessie B. Ashley b 14 Jun 1902; died 12 Jun 1987 and is buried at Fernwood Cemetery. She married; 1) Jack Turner in 1902 (IL); 2) Jim Osburn and 3) Hal Griffin.
10. Rose Viola Ashley b 4 May 1904; died 15 Dec 1988 and is buried at Fernwood Cemetery. She married 1) Chester Renick; 2) Joseph Duff.
11. Beulah Annie Ashley b 1906; died 25 Aug 1992 in Daviess Co KY. She married 1) William Bennett Morris; 2) Ed Denton; 3) Aubra Eastwood; and 4) ?? Calvert from Texas.
12. Amy Ashley b about 1908 and died at age two days.
