Mariah "Mae" Ashby, born Oct 1896, was the daughter of Cash Ashby and his first wife, Mariah "Mink" Hall. Shortly after Mae's birth Mink died and Cash Ashby remarried Mink's younger sister, Susan "Sudie" Hall.

In Susan Hall Ashby's 1963 obituary, Miss Mae Ashby of Evansville is named as a surviving stepdaughter.
