Paul Elliott Ashby, 50, attorney and Republican candidate for prosecuting attorney, died Thursday night in his home, 607 Blackford Avenue in Evansville, Indiana on 22 October 1942.

He had practiced law for twenty-one years in Vanderburgh County.

Survivors were named as wife Bessie (King); daughter, Mrs. F.B. Reichmann, Cincinnati Ohio and granddaughter Mrs. J.A. Leslie of Evansville.

Paul E. Ashby was born 22 Aug 1892 in Onton, Webster Co., KY. He was the son of Henry Lewis Ashby and Martha Randolph "Mattie" Elliott.
