Robert Henry Wallace, son of James Curry and Amanda (Price) Wallace was born 4 March 1853 in Union Co, Kentucky. As a young man he went to Texas, and served as
a Texas Ranger for three years. He then returned to Webster County where he married Lydia Zerilda
Asher on 25 February 1875 in Clay, Webster County. Lydia was the daughter of W. W. and America
Asher. The couple had two sons in Kentucky - Willie was born in 1876, and died at age five;
George Henry was born in 1878. The couple moved to Velma, Oklahoma, and Robert made the land
run. He claimed land in the western part of the state, and operated a large farm.

Two more children were born in Oklahoma - Claud in 1890, who died at age two, and a daughter Blanche M., born in 1893. George became a prominent surgeon in Oklahoma. Lydia died in Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma on 3 January 1928, and Robert died 22 August 1938. Both are buried in Fairview Cemetery in Durham, Oklahoma.
