Individual note: History of Livingston County MO, Jackson Twp, p 1003; p 101. His family cameto Missouri in 1833 from VA (Halifax Co?) and in 1835 to Livingston Co. Hisfather died 27 Feb 1856 and his mother died 12 Dec 1874. The senior Venablewas a soldier in the War of 1812. There were six children in the family:Charles, James P., Josiah, William R., Anna E., wife of E.J. Duncan, and JohnS. The brother Charles took part in the Mormon War and was one of those whohelped to arrest the Healtherlys. At the time this book was written all thesiblings were dead save Charles, Robert and Anna E.

Mrs. Roxie Tapp Buried Tuesday
Mrs. Roxie Tapp, 85, died Tuesday night of last week at her home here. Surviving are her husband, John W., two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Bridwell and Mrs. Willie Morehead of Dixon; two sons, Jess, Sebree and Alvie, Poole; a half-sister, Mrs. Fannie Tapp of Sebree. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Missionary Baptist church in Poole with Rev. Russell Duncan, assisted by Rev. Morgan Hauker, officiating. Burial in Shady Grove cemetery.
