We believe this John Crews was a son of Williamson Crews Jr and Melvina Catherine Archer and a brother of James W. Crews, but records of him are found with various middle initials so the identification is not certain.

A John O. Cruse, age 20, is listed in the 1880 Webster Co census with wife Rosa A., age 22, and daughter Cillia A., born January. They are listed next to James and Lucinda Crews, who is probably John's brother.
