Samuel P. Sparks was the son of Noah Sparks and Lucinda Newton.
His burial in April 1857 makes Samuel P. Sparks the earliest marked burial in this cemetery. There are probably earlier burials, but they were marked by sandstones or other methods that we are not able to read today.
As you can see, this stone was close to being lost before it was reset (below)
