JOYCE FAYE CRANFORD VICKERS
McALLEN – Joyce Faye Cranford Vickers, 57, passed away at her residence in McAllen
on Sunday, June 29, 2003, after a battle with leukemia.
She was the bookkeeper and secretary at Christian Fellowship Church in McAllen,
following her employment of many years at Dargel Boats in Donna.
She was preceded in death by her father, the Rev. Jimmie Albert Cranford; two brothers,
Ellis Floyd Cranford and Donnie Cranford; and one sister, Delois Cranford.
Joyce is survived by her mother, Retha Herrington Cranford of Farmerville, La.; four
sisters, Dossie Jones and husband Nelson of Bastrop, La., Geraldine Moore and husband
Larry of Greenwood, La., Mildred Bennett and husband Lawrence of Monroe, La., and
Mary Punch and husband Dwayne of Larose, La.; three brothers, Jimmy Cranford and
wife Pat, John Cranford and wife Sherri, all of Farmerville, La., and Mark Cranford and
wife Jo Ellen of West Monroe, La.; five nieces; nine nephews; six great-nieces; and one
great-nephew.
Memorial services to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, July
20, 2003, at Christian Fellowship Church in McAllen.
The family suggest that memorial gifts in the name of Joyce Vickers be made to Christian
Fellowship Church; 2201 Trenton Road; McAllen, Texas 78504.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Skinner-Silva Funeral Home of Pharr.
