James CRANFORD To Winborn CRANFORD Deed 1860

This Indenture made and entered into this 28th day of November A.D. 1860 Between James CRANFORD of the County of Montgomery and State of N. Carolina of the first part and Winborn CRANFORD of the County and State aforesaid of the second part, Witnesseth, That the said James CRANFORD for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Winborn CRANFORD the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said Winborn CRANFORD, his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in the County of Montgomery and State aforesaid on the Dark fork of Barnes Creek adjoining the lands of Green HARDISTER Deceased and others.  Beginning at a hickory and gum pointers also HARDISTER's corner and runs East with 2 degrees variation 134 poles to an oak branch, then South 127 poles Then West 134 poles, Then North 127 poles to the beginning containing one hundred acres more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid lands and terrements unto the said Winborn CRANFORD his heirs and assigns forever and further the said James CRANFORD on this part doth warrant and defend the right and title of said land and terrements unto the said Winborn CRANFORD against the claims or all other persons whatever, In Testimony whereof the said James CRANFORD doth hereunto set his hand and affix his seal the day and date above written.  Signed Sealed and delivered in the presents of

Montgomery County} In the Probate Court

On this 28th day of September 1869 The foregoing Deed is exhibited before me the undersigned Judge of Probate for said County and it is duly proven upon the oath of W.W. CRANFORD that James CRANFORD the grantor and Thomas J. BRIGHT the subscribing witness therein mentioned are dead and it is further proven upon the oath of the said W.W. CRANFORD that he is well acquainted with the hand writing of the said Thomas J. BRIGHT having often seen him write and that the name of the said subscribing witness is in the proper handwriting of the said Thomas J. BRIGHT.  Therefore let the said Deed together with the certificate be registered.
