Joseph HURLEY To Adaline CRANFORD Deed 1860 |
| This Indenture made and entered into this 4 day of Aug in the
year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty between Joseph HURLEY
of the County of Montgomery and State of N. Carolina of the one part and
Adaline CRANFORD of the county and State aforesaid of the other part
Witnesseth that the said Joseph HURLEY of the first part hath for and in
consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid
by the said Adaline CRANFORD the recipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
given granted bargained and sold a certain tract or parcel of land in
the county and State aforesaid on the North side of Spencers Creek adjoining
the lands of Alexr HURLEY Joseph HURLEY Elias HURLEY and others and being
a part ?? the tract of land of Joseph HURLEYs on which
the land is as follows Viz: beginning at a stake in a certain
hollow or branch then down the bank to the creek (Spencer)
thence up the various courses of the creek to the beginning
courses 140 poles containing one hundred acres the same more or less
with all woods ways waters minds minerals & ? thereunto belonging to
said land and further the said Joseph HURLEY binds himself to warrant
and defend the aforesaid names lands and terrenments unto the said
Adline CRANFORD heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims
of any and all persons claiming or pretending to claim
In testimony whereof I the said Joseph HURLEY do hereunto set hand and affix
my seal the day and date first written. Signed sealed and delivered
in the presents of

Att Wilson KIME Joshua A. CRANFORD Montgomery County} In the Probate Court Be it remembered that on this Eleventh day of April 1870 the foregoing Deed was proved. |
