Funeral Services Are Held Here For Mrs J.B. CRANFORD - Mother of Albemarle Men Passes After Illness of Several Months. Mrs. Mary Augusta CRANFORD wife of J.B. CRANFORD, died at the home of her son Z.F. CRANFORD, in Kings Mountain Tuesday night at 9:30 o'clock, death climaxing an illness of several months. Mrs. CRANFORD, a native of Montgomery county, was 72 years of age. At the age of 18 she was married to J. B. CRANFORD, also of Montgomery county and the couple resided there until about 10 years ago, when they moved to Albemarle. Failing health of both Mr. and Mrs. CRANFORD forced them to abandon housekeeping and since a few years ago they had made their home with their children, living in various sections if the state. At the early age of 12 years Mrs. Cranford affiliated herself with the Methodist Episcopal church, south, and had been a member of that denomination until the time of her death. She held membership in First Street church here for several years, and the funeral service was held from that church Wednesday afternoon in chrage of Rev. E.M. AVETT, assisted by Rev. C.J. BLACK, of Bessermer City, and Rev. C.D. WHITLEY, pastor of First Presbterian church here. Special music was rendered by the ladies' quartet of First Presbyterian church, composed of Mesdames A.C. HUNEYCUTT, W.E. MILTON, T.R. WOLFE and D.R. MORROW, with Miss Mary Leona TALBERT, accompanist. Mrs. CRANFORD had a wide acquaintance in Montgomery, Stanly, Richmond and Cleveland Counties, and numbers from each of these counties were present to pay their last respects to a woman whose Christian character and kindly disposition had been an inspiration to all with whom she came in contact. Surviving are her husband, j.B. CRANFORD, five sons and six daughters, as follows: Z.F. CRANFORD, Kings Mountain; C.B. CRANFORD of Albemarle; F.S. CRANFORD of Troy; A.B. CRANFORD of China Grove; Mrs. C.M. DAVIS, of Graham, and L.L. CRANFORD of this city. Pallbearers at the funeral wre grandsons of the deceased, while the following served in the capacity of flowergirls; Misses Frances, Mary, and Gladys CRANFORD, Mildred DAVIS, Mrs. Atmar MORROW, Mrs. A.B. CAMP, Mrs. Joe LONG, Mrs Myrtle PAUL, Mrs. Robert KISER, Mrs. Carson COCHRANE, Mrs. W.H. TYSON, Mrs. L.I. FITCH.

Former Stanly Lady Dies At Kings Mountain. Mrs. Daisy Hattie CRANFORD, 44 years of age, and the wife of Z.F. CRANFORD, died at her home in Kings Mountain, N.C., last Thursday evening about 7 o'clock. The funeral was held from the home Friday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment was made in the Silver Springs Church Cemetery that afternoon at 2 o'clock, near Albemarle. Mrs. CRANFORD was formery a member of the First Street Methodist church of Albemarle and had many friends here as well as in Kings Mountain. The funeral and burial were largely attended by friends from Albemarle (portion is darken with age) the home town of (also darkened with age) floral tributes (darkened with age) Is Survived by her husband and children: Mrs. Atmar MORROW, Albemarle; Mrs. Viola Bernstoff (darkened with age) Mich; Glenn, Marvin, Elsie, J.C., willard and Carol CRANFORD all of Kings Mountian. She also haves the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Ely HATHCOCK, Mrs. J.R. BURRIS, Vester HUNEYCUTT near Albemarle and T.M. HUNEYCUTT, en route to Florida. Mrs. CRANFORD and her family had been living in Kings Mountain for about three years, her husband being superintendent of the Dilling Cotton Mill of that place. The deceased was taken with pneumonia and olnly survived ten days. She was well-known in Albemarle and Kings Mountain.

Z.F. CRANFORD Died Suddenly Monday Morning. Relative of Local People Once Lived in Albemarle. Z.F. CRANFORD, well known former resident of Albemarle and near relative of several Albemarle people, died suddenly Monday morning at 2:30, at his home in Kings Mountain following a heart attack. Mr. CRANFORD who was 69 years of age, spent Saturday in Albemarle and appeared to be in excellent health. He was superintendent of a textile mill in Kings Mountain where he had lived for about 25 years after leaving Albemarle. While here he was connected with Wiscassett Mills Company as assistant superintendent. He was a native of Montgomery county, being the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.B. CRANFORD. He was a brother of L.L. and C.B. CRANFORD, and the father of Mrs. Atmar MORROW of Albemarle. He was a member of a Methodist church near Kings Mountian. He was twice married, first to Miss Daisy HUNEYCUTT of Stanly county, and second to Miss Nealie LOWDER who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Atmar MORROW of Albemarle, Mrs. Ben MILLER of Flint, Mich., and Miss Sarah CRANFORD of Pfeiffer college; five sons, Glenn, Marvin, J.C. Willard, and Carl CRANFORD; four brother, Fred S. CRANFORD of Troy, C.B. and L.L. of Albemarle, A.B. CRANFORD of China Grove, and one sister, Mrs. C.M. DAVIS of Central Falls. Funeral arrangements had not been completed Monday.

Z.F. CRANFORD Interred Here on Wednesday. Former Albemarle Resident Died Suddenly Monday. Final rites were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at El Bethel Methodist church, near Kings Mountain, for Z.F. CRANFORD, who died suddenly Monday morning at his home there. Rev. J. H. BRENDALL, pastor of the Kings Mountain Methodist church, Rev. E.A. BINGHMAN circuit, and Rev. R.M. HAUSS of Shelby were in charge of the rites. Burial was in Fairview Memorial park, Albemarle, with the graveside rites being conducted by Rev. Karl KOESTLINE, pastor of First Street Methodist Church. The Masonic ritual was used at the grave. Mr. CRANFORD, a former resident of Albemarle and near relative of a number of Albemarle people, was 69 years of age. He was apparently in good health until the fatal heart attack struck. His little granddaughter, Patricia CRANFORD, of San Antonio, Texas, died just one month earlier of a heart condition, also. Mr. CRANFORD was the brother of L.L. CRANFORD adn C.B. CRANFORD and the father of Mrs. Atmar MORROW of Albemarle. He was twice married, his second wife, the former Miss Nealie LOWDER, survives, with the following children: Mrs. Atmar MORROW, Mrs. Ben MILLER of Flint, Mich., Miss Sarah CRANFORD of the home and Pfeiffer college, Glenn CRANFORD of Pearl Harbor, Marvin CRANFORD of Aylacauga, Alabama, J.C. of California, Willard of San Antonio, Texas, and Carroll with the United States navy. Four brothers, Fred S. CRANFORD of Troy, C.B. and L.L. of Albemarle, and A.B. of China Grove, and one sister, Mrs. C.M. DAVIS of Central Falls, also survive.

Word was recieved here today of the death of Arnold G. CRANFORD, 47, former Charleston resident, who died July 23 at his home at norfolk, VA., of a heart ailment. Born in North Carolina, he came to Charleston about 1944 moving to Virgina three years earlier. Burial and services were held at Norfolk. Surviving are the widow, Phyllis Joan CRANFORD, and a daughter, Arnelda Joan, both of 608 Donally St.; five brothers and two sisters, all of North Carolina.

Retired Master Sgt. William R. CRANSTON (note: this is an error of the last name), 46, died Wednesday. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Surviving are his wife, Lois CRANFORD, a son, Gerald BOND of Germany; three daughters, Debra CRANFORD, Beverly GOLUBOSKI and Shriley KEARNS, all of Fayetteville; four brothers, Earl CRANFORD of New Orleans, La.; Robert CRANFORD of Califonia, Donald G. CRANFORD of Faytteville, Dan LEWIS of Bessemer City; and a sister Delores WILLIAMS of Charlotte. The family will be at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. today.

Ms. Lois BOND CRANFORD, 66, of Route 1, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center. No services are planned. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. Ms. CRANFORD is survived by three daughters, Debra CRANFORD of Laurinburg, and Shirley KEARNS and Beverly GOLUBOSKY, both of Fayetteville; a son, Gerald BOND of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Art NAGELIN of Florida, George NAGELIN of California and Richard NAGELIN of Indiana; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Route 5, Box 277, Fayetteville, N.C. 28301.
