William HURLEY & Wife To Martin B. CRANFORD Deed 1875 |
| This Indenture made and entered into this the second day of September
in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and seventy five between
William HURLEY & Margaret HURLEY his wife of the county of Montgomery
and state of North Carolina of the first part and Martin B. CRANFORD of the
county and state aforesaid of the second part witnesseth that the said William
HURLEY & Margaret HURLEY his wife of the first part for and in consideration
of Five hundred and fifty dollars to their hand paid the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged hath given, granted, bargained and sold and by these
presents doth give, grant bargain and sell unto the said Martin B. CRANFORD
his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land in the County
and state aforesaid on the East side of Uwharrie river adjoining the lands
of William and others Beginning at a white oak on teh East bank of the river
Eli DAVIS's approx. corner of the mill tract and runs east 31 poles to a
Post oak, Hickory and dogwood pointer, then South 50 East 95 poles to a Post
oak, Then No. 30 E. 150 poles to a Post oak the old original Corner then
N. 18 W. 166 poles to a sweet gum on the East bank of the river Then
down the various courses of the river to the first station containing one
hundred and Eight(y) one acres more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid
lands and tournaments with all hereunto pertaining unto the said Martin
B. CRANFORD his heirs and assigns forever. And further the said
William HURLEY and Margaret HURLEY his wife on their part doth warrant and
defend the right and title of said land unto the said Martin B. CRANFORD
his heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of any and all
persons claiming or pretending to claim. In Testimony ?o hereof
the said WILLIAM HURLEY and Margaret HURLEY his wife doth hereunto set
there hand and affix there seals the day and date first afsd written
