Michael AILSTOCK 1781 Deed Transcribed

This Indenture made this Twenty fourth Day of July In the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty one Between Michael AILSTOCK of the County of Louisa of the one part and Jesse HOGARD of the aforesaid County of the other part so Witnesseth that the said Michael AILSTOCK for and in consideration of the Sum of Ten Thousand pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid before the sealing & delivery of these Presents the Receipt where of he the Said Michael AILSTOCK do hereby Acknowledge & himself fully Satisfied Contented & paid & thereof and Every part & parcell thereof do acquit & Discharge him the said Jesse HOGARD his heirs Executors and Administrators & By these Presents do Bargain Sell alien Enfor? Release & Confirm unto the Said Jesse HOGARD his heirs & assigns forever one Certain Tract or Parcell of Land & Plantation there on Situate Lying & Being in the above said County on the waters of Hensons Creek Bounded as follows (to wit) beginning at a corner Black oak in HAMLETONS Line thence South one Degree East one hundred & sixty poles to a Corner Hickoly in John WHITES Line thence South Sixty three degrees East forty poles to a corner Pointers Small Saplins in WHITES Line thence North Twenty Three Degrees East one hundred & six poles to a corner popalar HAMELTONS thence North Sixty four Degrees one hundred & Sixteen poles to the Beginning Containing by Estemation Sixty acres be the Same more or Less with all Buildings Houses on hand woods underwoods ways waters & meadows grounds & all & singular the improvements and appurtences to the said Land Belonging or in any wise appurtaining and the Revertion & Revertions Remainder & Remainders & all the Rents Issaes & profits thereof and every part and parcel thereof and all the Estate Rights Title property Claim and Demand of the Said Michael AILSTOCK his Heirs Executors & of in or to the same or any part or parcell there of Free and Clear of all Intakes mortgages ?? and from all and forever or other Gifts Grants Bargains Sales to have and to hold the Said Parcel or Tract of Land above improvements and appurtenances unto the sd Jess HOGGARD his heirs & assigns to the only mentioned with all and Singular the proper use and Behoof of him the said Jessee HOGARD his heirs and assigns forever and the Said Michael AILSTOCKS do for himself his heirs Executors ?? Convenant Promise and agree to and with the Said Jessee HOGARD his heirs and assigns that the Right and Title of the Said Land & Premises with the appurtenances & Every part and Parcel ther of against him the Said Michael and his heirs and against all and Every other Person or persons whatsoever to the said Jessee HOGARD his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these presents In Witness where of the said Michael AILSTOCKS have Interchangeably Set his hand & affixed his Seal this Day and year above written

Memorandum that on the day and year first within Peaceable and quit Possession and Seizon of the Said Land and Premises within Granted and sold was had and Taken by the within Named Michael AILSTOCKS and by him delivered over unto the within Named Jessee HOGARD according to the Contents True Intent & meaning of the within Indenture~

Received this Twenty fourth Day of July 1781 of Jessee HAGARD the full Sum of Ten Thousand pounds current money of Virginia Being the full Consideration Money for the within Granted and Sold Land & premises and every part and parcell thereof do hereby acquit and discharge him the Said Jessee HOGARD his heirs & assigns, Witness my hand this day and year above written-

*At a Court held for Louisa County at the Court house Oct 8th 1781 - This Deed was this day in open Court proved by the oaths of John HARGER, John JOHNSON & Story TALLEY the witnesses thereto and the same is ordered to be recorded.
