RIVOLI TOWNSHIP:

DANIEL JONES was born in Canada on 22 February 1808; married 2 March 1830 to Miss Atlanta BARTLETT, whose brother, Gardner BARTLETT, was sent by the Baptists of Vermont as a missionary to Illinois, in 1833. The JONES raised six children, two daughters and four sons, all of whom are respected and useful members of the communities in which they reside. Mrs. JONES died 27 August 1868.
Daniel JONES settled in the county in 1837. He is now (1882) at the age of 74 years carrying on a farm near Galesburg, Illinois, to which he removed in 1863.
Orson JONES was born in Canada on 6 January 1834 and married first to Amelia SEXTON of Viola, Illinois who died 3 months after her marriage. On 29 May 1869 he was again married to Miss Helen P., daughter of William C. BARTLETT, one of the earliest settlers of Geneseo in Henry County. Miss Helen was born in Geneseo on 30 October 1840. They have two children: Frederick D. born 13 September 1861 and Minnie G. born 1 January 1867. After Orson's return from the Civil War he settled upon his present farm of 154 acres in section 7, Oxford township, Henry County where he continues to reside.
