James MONROE Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom These presents shall come Greeting Know ye, That by virtue of part of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number sixteen thousand seven hundred issued the third of June Seventeen hundred and eighty three, There is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto Garner BARTLETT and Thomas LUTTILL A Certain tract or parcel of land containing eighty three acres by Survey bearing date the twentieth day of October Seventeen Hundred and eighty three, lying and being in the County of Botetourt adjoining Milling Cabbin, waters of Roan Oak and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a white oak by a path thence South sixty two degrees West fifty four poles to a dogwood and chesnut - West fifty poles to a red oak by a path, South twenty nine degrees West thirty four poles to two white oaks, thence South fifty six poles to a red oak, thence South twenty degrees East thirty poles to a white oak, South East eighty four poles crossing the branch North thirteen degrees East one hundred and forty four poles to the beginning with its appurtenances to the said Garner BARTLETT and Thomas LUTTILL and their heirs forever, In witness whereof the said James MONROE Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the nineteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and of the Commonwealth the twenty fifth.
