James WOOD Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that by Virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number eleven thousand five hundred and fifty issued the twenty second day of March one thousand seven hundred and eighty two, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto James BARTLETT a Certain Tract of parcel of land containing ninety acres by Survey bearing date the twenty sixth day of July one thousand seven hundred and ninety five, lying and being in the County of Patrick on the North side of Smith River and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at Talman HARBOURs corner black oak and pointers at the side of the River thence new lines North sixty six degrees East forty eight poles to pointers in Wards line thence with that line North twenty two degrees East eighty eight poles crossing a branch to pointers, thence new lines North Seventeen degrees West thirty six poles to pointers North fifty nine degrees West fifty poles to pointers in Thomas’s line thence with that line North seventy three degrees West Seventy eight poles to a white oak near a branch North nine degrees West twenty six poles to a white North eight degrees West Sixteen poles crossing a branch to a white oak, thence new lines, South forty one degrees West thirty two poles to pointers at his own line thence with that line South twenty five degrees East twelve poles to pointers South sixty nine degrees East sixty four poles crossing a branch to a red oak South sixty forty eight degrees West fifty eight poles crossing aforesaid branch to a white oak, North eighty degrees East thirty poles to a white oak South forty five degrees East forty five poles to a white oak South ten degrees East thirty six poles crossing a branch to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said James BARTLET and his heirs forever, In Witness whereof the said James WOOD Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the thirtieth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight and of the commonwealth the twenty third.
