Patrick HENRY esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting: Know ye, that by virtue and in consideration of three military warrants under the King of Great Britains Proclamation of Seventeen Hundred and Sixty Three Number three hundred and eighty four, three hundred and eighty five and three hundred eighty six and issued the sixteenth day of February one thousand seven hundred and eighty there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto William BARTLETT a certain Tract or parcel of Land , containing seven hundred and fifty acres by survey bearing the date eighth day of November one thousand seven hundred and eighty three lying and being in the County of Jefferson on the waters of the East Fork of Floyds Fork and Beginning at William HOBDAYs North East corner at two Beach trees thence South twenty degrees East with his line one hundred and twenty four poles crossing afore said of Floyds fork three hundred and sixty poles crossing at branch four hundred seventy two and half poles to a sugar tree poplar (mulberry thence North twenty degrees East two hundred and fifty four poles to a poplar*) and beach thence North twenty degrees West four hundred seventy two and a half poles to a sugar tree and beach trees thence seventy degrees West two hundred and fifty four poles to the Beginning with the appurtenances; to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land, with the appurtenances, to the said William BARTLETT and his heirs for ever. In Witness thereof the said Patrick HENRY Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, hand, and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond; on the first day of April, in year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty five and of the commonwealth the ninth.
