Virginia Land Grants and Patents Grants Vol. No. 24, page 642 WILLIAM BARTLETT, 3000 Acres, 21 April 1792, Madison Co., KY Henry LEE Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting, Know ye that by virtue of part of a Land Office Treasury Warrant number eight thousand and seventy two, There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto William BARTLETT, a certain tract or parcel of land containing three thousand acres by survey bearing date the tenth day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight, lying and being in the County of Madison on both sides of Goose Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a large sycamore standing on the Bank of Kentucky River at the mouth? of said bank, thence up the river as it meanders one hundred and eighty poles to a sugar tree standing on the bank of the said river, then North fifty nine degrees, East one hundred and eight poles to two white oaks, thence South thirty one degrees East seven hundred and forty eight poles to a white oak and dogwood, thence South fifty nine degrees West five hundred and fifty poles to a large white oak, thence North thirty one degrees West nine hundred and fifty six poles to a black oak thence North fifty nine degrees East one hundred and forty four poles to two sugar trees standing on the bank of Kentucky River, thence up the river as it meanders two hundred and fifty poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said William BARTLETT and his heirs forever. In Witness whereof the said Henry LEE Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his Hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at RICHMOND on the twenty first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two, and of the Commonwealth the Sixteenth.

Virginia Land Grants and Patents Henry LEE Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting, Know ye that by virtue of part of a Land Office Treasury Warrant number eight thousand and seventy two issued the twenty ninth day of November one thousand seven hundred and eighty one, There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto William BARTLETT, a certain tract or parcel of land containing two thousand acres by survey bearing date the tenth day of April one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight, lying and being in the County of Madison on Kentucky River above the mouth of Goose Creek adjoining his former survey of three thousand acres that includes the mouth of Goose Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a sugar tree on the bank of said river being the said BARTLETTs upper corner of his former survey of three thousand acres that includes the mouth of Goose Creek, thence up the River and Meadows one thousand two hundred and forty six poles to a sugar tree on the bank of said River, then South thirty one degrees East one hundred and sixty six poles to two white oaks, then South fifty nine degrees, West seven hundred and ninety eight pokes to a white oak and dogwood, thence North thirty one degrees West three hundred and eighty four poles to the Beginning. With its appurtenances to Have and hold the said tract or parcel of land; with its appurtenances to the said William BARTLETT and his Heirs forever. In Witness whereof of the said Henry LEE Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his Hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the twenty first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two, and of the Commonwealth the Sixteenth.
