[KY] Patrick HENRY Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know Ye that by virtue and in consideration of part of a military Warrant under the King of Great Britains proclamation of one thousand seven hundred and sixty three Number six hundred and ninety three issued the fourteenth day of March one thousand seven hundred and eighty there is granted by the said commonwealth unto Anthony BARTLETT assignee of William HESLOP a certain tract or parcel of land containing one thousand acres by survey bearing the date the tenth day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty three being in the County of Jefferson on the waters of Gifs? Fork a branch of Brashears’s? Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at the lower line of Joseph ROBERTS land assignee of Thomas DAGERTY at a poplar white walnut and blue ash and running thence South forty five degrees West five hundred and thirty one poles passing said ROBERTS corner at the end of seventy one poles and the course continued to a blue ash hickory and hoopwood South forty five degrees East six hundred and ninety three poles crossing the two main forks of Gifs? Creek to a sugar tree hickory and blue ash North forty five degrees East two hundred and thirty one poles to three sugar trees, North forty five degrees West six hundred and ninety three poles to the Beginning with its Appurtenances. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said Anthony BARTLETT and his Heirs forever. In Witness whereof the said Patrick HENRY Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath here unto set his hand and caused the lesses seal of the said Commonwealth to be Affixed at RICHMOND on the Twentieth day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and Eight Six, and of the Commonwealth the Tenth.

Virginia Land Grants and Patents, Grants 12, p. 469, 13 Sep 1787 Beverly RANDOLPH Esquire Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these presents shall come greeting Know Ye that by virtue and in consideration of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number Eight thousand five hundred and eleven Issued the Sixth day of November one thousand seven hundred and Eighty one. There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Anthony BARTLETT a certain Tract or parcel of Land containing Two thousand acres by Survey bearing date the Sixteenth day of November one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty four lying and being in the County of Jefferson on the Waters of Bargrass Creek adjoining the Lands of Edmund TAYLOR and John ASHBY and bounded as followeth. To Wit: Beginning in TAYLOR line at a white ark and with the same and John ASHBYs line North Sixty Six degrees East eight hundred poles passing their Corners and crossing Beargrass Creek to a hickory beech and gum thence South twenty four degrees East four hundred poles to a ___ degrees West eight hundred poles to a large white oak and poplar in piece of Slarkey Ground North twenty four degrees West four hundred poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Anthony BARTLETT and his Heirs forever. In Witness whereof the said Beverly RANDOLPH esquire Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath here unto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven and of the commonwealth the Twelfth.
