THIS INDENTURE made this 24th day of March in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and ninety five between John HAWKINS of the County of Scott and State of Kentucky of the one part & John BARTLETT of the county of Clarke and State aforesd of the other Witnesseth that that (sic) the said John HAWKINS for & in consideration of the sum of thirty three pounds to him in hand by the sd John BARTLETT the receipt whereof he the sd John HAWKINS dothe hereby acknowledge hath bargained and Sold & by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the sd John BARTLETT all that tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Clarke containing sixty acres being part of William BRIANTs Preemption as will more fully appear by the patent granted to the sd HAWKINS as assee of sd William BRIANTs and Bounded as followeth (viz.).
Beginning at a Hackberry in the line of CORNs [CHORN’s?] preemption & Corner of John BAKERs thence North with his line eighty six poles to two hickorys Corner to William PAYNE thence West with sd PAYNEs line one hundred & thirteen poles to a sugartree & white oak thence South eight six poles to a hickory in CORNs line thence east one hundred & thirteen poles to the Beginning. Together with all houses, out houses, building, Yards, Gardens, Orchards, Woods, underwoods, trees, ways?, Waters, watercourses profits commoditys advantages hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever to the sd land & premises belonging or in any wise appertaining & the revertion & revertions remainder & remainders rents issue & profits of the said premises hereby granted & sold & of every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the sd sixty acres of land & premises.
