I, Benjamin HUGHES of Jefferson County, hereby appoint Thomas W. RILEY of Bullitt, my lawful attorney, to execute to John BARTLETT of Jefferson County, my deed to a tract of land in Jefferson County, containing 162-1/2 acres, by survey, which I have sold him, but the deed is to be made upon condition that said BARTLETT shall execute to me his obligation to lift a note of mine, in the hands of James DENSFORD, on which remains due about $65, and also to lift an obligation of mine, given by me to James DENSFORD, by which I bound myself to pay to said DENSFORD $12 per acre for all the land over 161-1/2 acres in the tract I bought of James & John DENSFORD, and shall also pay said RILEY, for my use, $37.72 in specie and $0.75 in Kentucky currency; when the above conditions are complied with on the part of said BARTLETT, then said RILEY shall execute my deed to said BARTLETT.
