This indenture made this ____ day of ____ in the year eighteen hundred and twenty seven between James BARTLETT of the one part and Matilda BRIDGES, wife of George BRIDGES (late Matilda FORSYTHE), Margaret BRIDGES, wife of William BRIDGES (late Margaret FORSYTHE), Mary FORSYTHE, James FORSYTHE, Thomas FORSYTHE, John FORSYTHE & Daniel FORSYTHE, heirs of James FORSYTHE (deceased) of the other part all of Jefferson County whereas the above mentioned James BARTLETT did by his obligation bearing date on the 10th day of March 1819 promise to convey to James FORSYTHE his heirs and assigns a certain lot or parcel of land lying in the County of Jefferson containing sixteen acres and a half and contained within the following courses and distances - Beginning at two beeches and a sugar tree therein running north twenty one degrees forty five minutes east one hundred and sixty poles to a white oak tree, north seventy degrees west twenty two poles to a black ash, thence south twenty degrees west one hundred and thirty five poles to three beeches, thence south seventy degrees east five poles and six tenths of a pole to a beech, thence south twenty degrees west twenty five poles to two beeches, thence south seventy degrees east eight poles to the beginning and whereas the said James BARTLETT acknowledges that he has received the sum of one hundred and seventy five dollars in full consideration of the said land and whereas the above named party grantees are all the lawfull heirs of James FORSYTHE (deceased), therefore this indenture witnesseth that the said James BARTLETT for and in consideration of the said sum of one hundred and sixty five dollars paid to him as aforesaid, hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeof, convey and confirm unto them the said party grantees above named, all the right, title, claim and interest of him the said James BARTLETT of, in and unto the above described lot or parcel of land so as above described, to have and to hold the same to they the said party grantees forever and to and for no other use, intent or purpose whatsoever.

In witness whereof the said James BARTLETT hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.

I Worden POPE Clerk of the County Court of Jefferson County in the State of Kentucky do certify that on this day James BARTLETT came personally before me in my office and acknowledged and delivered the foregoing deed to be his act and deed and that I have recorded the same in my said office as witness my hand this fourth day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven.
