Virginia Land Grants and Patents, 1794-1795 Grants Vol. 32, pages 253-254 GARNER BARTLETT, 173 Acres, 13 May 1795, Botetourt Co., VA Robert BROOKE Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting, Know ye, that by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number sixteen thousand seven hundred, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Garner BARTLETT, a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and seventy three acres, by survey bearing date the nineteenth day of October one thousand seven hundred and eighty three, lying and being in the County of Botetourt, on Falling Creek, Waters of Roan Oak, and is bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a spanish oak, and runneth thence, South fifteen degrees East fifty four poles to a white oak saplin, North sixty six degrees East one hundred and fifty poles to a Chesnut oak saplin, North twenty eight degrees East one hundred and forty eight poles to a pine saplin, North ten degrees West eighty four poles to three chesnuts North West thirty four poles to a white oak and Chesnut saplin, South thirty seven degrees West three hundred and eight poles to the Beginning. With its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Garner BARTLETT and his Heirs forever, In witness whereof the said Robert BROOKE Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at RICHMOND on the Thirteenth day of May in the year of our God One thousand seven hundred and ninety five, and of the Commonwealth the Nineteenth.
