DEED OF CONVEYANCE
JAMES BARTLETT to WILLIAM LUNSFORD

This indenture made this 8th day of December 1825 between James BARTLETT of Jefferson County and state of [Kentucky] of the one part and William LUNSFORD of Shelby County and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said James BARTLETT for and in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred dollars current money of Kentucky to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien release convey and confirm unto the said William LUNSFORD his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing ninety six acres and eleven poles lying and being in Jefferson County and state aforesaid on Floyds fork being the place where William BARTLETT now lives and a part of the old survey [where] I James BARTLETT now lives bounded as follows to wit Beginning a white oak corner to H. KINISTER on the west side of Nimrod DORSEY’s Mill road, N 75 W 59 poles to a hickory corner to the widow FORSYTHE’s and said KINISTER, thence N 21 W 110 poles to a beech near the widow FORSYTHE’s fence, N74 W 10 poles to a beech, thence S 20 W 66 poles to the intersection of the creek, S73 E 85 poles to a beech, thence N 55 E 47 poles to a beech in Nimrod DORSEY’s line, N 5 W 70 poles to a stake near the lane, N 8 E 44 poles to a sugartree at the corner of the fence, thence No 20 E 36 poles to the beginning to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances unto the said William LUNSFORD his heirs or assigns to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever and the said James BARTLETT do now convenant and agree to and with the said William LUNSFORD that he has an indefeasible estate of inheritance in and to the premises hereby bargained and sold and that the same now and forever shall be & remain free and clear of and from all and every kind of incumberance whatever and the said James BARTLETT doth further convenant and agree to and with the said William LUNSFORD that he the said James BARTLETT and his heirs executors administrators shall & will warrant and forever defend the said tract or parcel of land with all the appurtanances unto the said William LUNSFORD his heirs executors administrators and assigns against all and every person or persons whatever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

I Worden POPE Clerk of the County Court of Jefferson County in the state of Kentuckey do certify that on this day James BARTLETT came personally before me in my office and delivered and acknowledged the within deed as and for his act and deed and that I have recorded the same in my said office. Witness my hand this eighth day of February one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.
