This indenture made this twelfth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty between James BARTLETT and Rachel his wife of the County of Jefferson and State of Kentucky of the one part and John CONN of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said James BARTLETT and Rachel his wife for and in consideration of the sum of sixty four dollars good and lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by the said John CONN the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and confess have granted bargained sold released remised aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain and sell release remise alien convey and confirm unto the said John CONN in his possession now being and to his heirs and assigns forever all that tract and parcel of land lying and being in the County of Jefferson aforesaid on the waters of Bush run a branch of Floyds fork and bounded as follows (viz) beginning at two beeches and a hickory corner to the said John CONN, thence North seventy degrees West sixteen poles to a beech and two sugartrees, thence North 20 degrees East eighty poles to a sugartree and ash, thence South 70 degrees East 16 poles to a walnut, white oak and sugartree, thence South 20 degrees West 80 poles to the beginning containing by estimation eight acres of land be the same more or less (the above described tract or parcel of land being part of a tract conveyed to the said James BARTLETT by Thomas PICKETT) together with all and singular the appurtenances and hereditaments thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents issues and profits thereof and also all the estate right title interest claim or demand whatever of the said James BARTLETT and Rachel his wife either in law or equity of in and to the above bargained premises with the appurtenances and hereditaments to have and to hold the said premises above particularly mentioned and describe to the sole and only proper use benefit and behoof of the said John CONN his heirs and assigns forever- and the said James BARTLETT for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant grant promise and agree to and with the said John CONN his heirs and assigns the above bargained premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of him the said John CONN his heirs and assigns against all and every person or persons lawfully or equitably claiming or to claim the whole or any part thereof will forever warrant and defend in witness whereof the said James BARTLETT and Rachel his wife have hereto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and date first above written.
