Jefferson County, Kentucky Deed Book 10, p. 214. This indenture made the tenth day of January in the year of one thousand eight hundred and thirteen between John BARTLETT Sen. of Jefferson County and state of Kentucky of the one part and John BARTLETT Jun. of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar in hand paid by the [said] John Jr. at or before the sealing and delivering of these presents the rece’t whereof is hereby acknowledged and therefore doth release aiquit[sic] and discharge the said John Jr. his heirs ex’ors and administrators the said John Sr. have granted bargained sold aliened released and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien release confirm unto the said John Jr. all the right title interest claim and demise of any nature or kind whatsoever whether in law or equity which he the said John Sr. now have or may hereafter be found to have of in or to the real estate of the said John Sr. in the county above mentioned or elsewhere and to all the property herein mentioned that is to say one hundred and ninety six acres of land lying on the south branch of the south fork of Beargrass in said county also two hundred and twenty eight acres of land in Shelby County on the east fork of Floyds also one negro man by the name of James also a waggon and five pair of gear jack screw cover &?.. three bay horses, one dun mare, one sorrel mare also ten head of cattle, thirteen head of sheep and sixty head of hogs, eight beds, bedsteads and furniture, one desk, one sugar ditto, four tables, one candle stand and all my farming tools and kitchen furniture and the said John Sr. will warrant and defend all the within named property from every person or persons claiming any wright [sic] or title thereto as witness my hand and seal the day and year first written.
