Jackson Co., TN Roll 31, Book G, page 336. Dated Jan. 17, 1812, Rec. Nov. 1st, 1813 The State of Tennessee No. 3650 To all to whom these presents shall come, GREETING, KNOW YE, THAT by virtue of part of Certificate No. 156 dated the 16th day of January 1809 obtained from the Commissioner of West Tennessee by JAMES ROBERTSON and entered on the 24th day of March 1809 by No. 26 as an occupant claim under the act of 1807. There is granted by the said State of Tennessee unto JAMES BARTLET assignee of the said JAMES ROBERTSON A certain tract or parcel of land, containing two hundred and twenty seven acres, lying in Jackson County, in the third district of the Falling water of the Caney Fork. Beginning at a while oak, on the South side of the Creek, near a road, runs thence West eight nine poles to a while walnut and hornbeam near the South bank of the creek, then South one hundred and thirty six poles to a large lynn? on the side of a mountain marked B. then East with the mountain one hundred and fifty six poles to an ash, then South with the mountain seventy two poles to a poplar and hickory, then East one hundred and twenty six poles to a white oak, then North seventy nine poles to a forked poplar at the foot of Cumberland Mountain, then North sixty two Degrees West with said mountain forty three poles to a poplar, then North thirty five Degrees West forty eight poles with said Mountain to a hickory, then North sixty two Degrees West, continuing with said Mountain one hundred and forty three poles to the Beginning. Surveyed the 21st of June 1808 by JAMES CHISM, D.S. with the hereditament and appurtenances to have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land with the appurtenances to the said JAMES BARTLET and his heirs forever. In witness whereof WILLIE BLOUNT, Governor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand and caused the great seal of the state to be affixed, at Knoxville on the 17th of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve of the Independence of the United States, the thirty six.
