ROSTER OF WISCONSIN VOLUNTEERS
War of the Rebellion, 1861-1865

THE BARTLETTS WHO SERVED

Flag

Following a recommendation to the legislature by Wisconsin Governor Jeremiah M. Rusk in January, 1885, that all files and records pertaining to the Civil War be copied and compiled in order to permanently preserve them, Bill No. 163-A was passed in April, 1885 and work on the compilation began using the original records in the Adjutant General’s office. The resulting two-volume publication, Roster of Wisconsin Volunteers, War of the Rebellion, 1861-1865, was published in 1886 and an index to the roster was published in 1914.

The following list of BARTLETTs who served in the Wisconsin Volunteers was compiled and information abstracted by Sandra G. Taylor from the online digital images of the pages of this publication, made available by the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. The information shown on each individual (if available) is his residence at time of enlistment, rank, company and regiment, the date he enlisted, the date mustered out of service, and, in some cases, any additional information that was available. Further information on the publication and how to obtain copies of these records may be found at The State Historical Society of Wisconsin.
