Endnotes
by Sandra G. Taylor

1 These tax lists were found in the Will Records, researched by Judi Dyckman and generously shared with me.
2 I have included a few other names here that seem, or are known, to be closely associated with the BARTLETTs. Of particular interest is the MAYFIELD name. In 1729, Spotsylvania Co., VA, one Samuel BARTLETT assigns a bond to William BARTLETT. Witnesses were Abram MAYFIELD and Anthony FOSTER. In Warren County one Abraham MAYFIELD died by May, 1809. I don’t know at this time if this is the same Abram/Abraham or what, if any, his association with the BARTLETTs in Warren County may have been. (See Warren Co. Wills, Deed abstracts)
3 Some notes on the surname POWER(s): In 1785 one Thomas BARTLETT is granted land in Monongalia Co., VA as assignee of John POWERS. In 1792 one Jasper SEYBOLD is witness to lease of land to Samuel BARTLETT in Loudoun Co., VA; eventually Jasper's dau, Sarah, marries a John POWER. In 1807, Warren Co., NC, executor of the Will of William BARTLETT is friend, Thomas POWER and in 1812 John POWER is found on the tax list of Warren Co. Are these all from the same BARTLETT and POWER(S) families???
