Bartley T. Taylor

Born on December 31, 1848 in Alabama (possibly Crenshaw County)
Parents: Thomas and Martha (Casen) Taylor
1850 Coffee County, Alabama census
1870 Crenshaw County, Alabama census
1880 Smith County, Texas census
January 28, 1900 - Died in Van Zandt County, Texas

was born on December 31, 1848. Bart is listed in the 1850 Coffee County, Alabama census with his mother. (Note: Bart's father had died about a year prior to the 1850 census)

I have been told that Bart's mother, Martha, remarried sometime prior to 1860 and that she, Bart and Thomas are listed in the 1860 Coffee County, Alabama census in the household of Martha's new husband, Lemuel H. Vanlandingham.

Bart and Matilda were married around 1869. In Matilda's obituary, it states that she was born January 30, 1849 and that she married at the age of 20.

In 1870, Bart and Matilda are listed in the Crenshaw County, Alabama census. Soon after this 1870 census, Bart and Matilda move to East Texas. They along with their first two children, Fredrick and Gilbert, are listed in the 1880 Smith County, Texas census (Smith County is next to Van Zandt County).

In the 1900 Van Zandt County, Texas census Bart is not included in the household because he had died in January of 1900 and the census was not taken until June of 1900.

Recently received information indicates that Bart's parents were Thomas and Martha (Casen) Taylor.
