    Mrs. Louis Tilkins
    Pulaski - Mrs. Florence Brown Tilkins, 52, wife of Louis E. Tilkins of Richland died Monday afternoon in Mercy Hospital, Watertown, where she had been a patient for three days. She had been in ill health for the past two years.

    She was born Aug. 6, 1905 in Richland, daughter of John and the late Elizabeth Frost Brown and was educated in the local schools. She married Mr. Tilkins in Richland on Sept. 4, 1924.

    Surviving are her husband, father, five daughters, Miss Dorothy Tilkins, Syracuse; Mrs. Grant (Norma) Wilson, Mrs. Eillen Dyer, Mrs. Walter (Juanita) Salisbury, and Mrs. Edward (Mary) Vielewicz, all of Richland; five sons, Robert of Fort Wayne, Ind., Donald of Brewerton, John of Richland, Richard, stationed with U.S. Navy at Newport, R.I., and Ronald, stationed in the Army at Fort Meade, Va.; 16 grandchildren; three brothers, Isaac Brown, Brewerton, Stewart Brown, Butler, Pa., and Earl Brown, San Francisco, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Donald Sherlock and Mrs. William Jones, both of Syracuse.

    Funeral services will be 2p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home, this village, the Rev. Jay Wilcox, pastor of Richland Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery.

    Born in the Town of Orwell, she attended Pulaski Academy and Central School. She formerly was employed at Rome Cable Co., and [ler at] moved to Syracuse where she was employed at the McMillan Bookstore until she retired two years ago.

    Surviving are her father, Lewis E. Tilkins of Portersville, Calif.; four brothers, Robert of Butler, Pa., Richard, serving with the Navy at Middletown, R.I., , Ronald of Baltimore, Md., and John Tilkins of Richland; four sisters, Mrs. Norma Wilson of Pulaski, Mrs. Eilene Skotnicki, Mrs. Beonita Salisbury and Mrs. Mary Bielewicz, all of Richland.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Richland Cemetery.

    Born in Richland, she was a life resident.

    Mrs. Skotnicki belonged to the Richland Fire Department Auxiliary and the town of Richland zoning board. She was the former commisioner of the Richland Fire District, and election inspector for the town of Richland.

    She was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond Dyer, who died in 1957, and her second husband, Joseph, who died in 1994.

    Surviving are three sons, Joseph II of Richland, Bruce "Pete" Dyer of Pittsburgh, and Daryl Dyer of Butler, Pa.; a daughter, Beverly Ackley of Adams Center; three brothers, Robert Tilkins of Sarver, Pa., Ronald Tilkins of Baltimore, and John Tilkins of North Syracuse; a sister, Bonnie Salisbury of Richland; 19 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
