Bastardy Case

Dutchess County ss Whereas we the undernamed being
two of the Justices of the Peace of said
County have this day assosiated at Fishkill in
said County upon the application of Obadiah Titus,
Nehemiah Sweet and Alexander Hasbrook (superintendants
of the poor of said county) for the purpose of making
examination and determination tuching a
certain bastard child lately born in the Town of
Fishkill in said County {torn............}
Tine and chargeable to said county. And of which child
Horatio Nelson Brill was alledged to be the father.
And whereas we have duly examined the said Harriet Vn
Tine on oath on the adjourned day touching the father of sd
child and no other evidence being offered before us
whereby it appears that the sd Harriet Vn Tine was on the
27th day of June last delivered of a male Basterd child
in said Town of Fishkill and which is chargeble to sd
County of Dutchess and the the said Horatio Nelson
Brill is the father of said child. We therefore upo{n}
the examination of the matter as well by the oath and exam-
ination of said Harriet Vn Tine on the adjournd day
do adjudge the said Horatio Nelson Brill to be the father
{where the two images are joined}
in said said Town of Fishkill and which is chargeble to sd
County of Dutchess and that the said Horatio Nelson
Brill is the father of said child. We therefore upo{n}
the examination of the matter as well by the oath and exam-
ination of said Harriet Vn Tine on the adjournd day
do adjudge the said Horatio Nelson Brill to be the father
of said Bastard child and therefore we order that sd
Horatio Nelson Brill pay to the superintendants of the
poor of the County of Dutchess for the support of sd child
the weekly sum of thirty one cents so long as sd
child shall continue chargable to sd County
and in as mutch as it appeard to us and we
find that said Harriet Vn Tine is in indigent
surcumstancis we determine and order that sd
Horation Nelson Brill pay to sd superintendants
for the sustenance of the sd Harriet Vn Tine during
her confinement and recovery therefrom Eight
Dollars and we do here by certify the reasonable costs
of apprehending and securing the said father and {??}
on the order of filiation at the sum of fifty nine dollars
and twenty one cents. Given under our hand at Fishkill
the 30th day of July 1834.
