There is a Samuel Vantine inscribed on the monument for Elmer Vantine. All that is readable is Mar 1916. I now believe it has to be an inscription for Samuel although I have that he was buried in Pennsylvania. (I got this is from the cemetery reading done by a researcher for me in Dutchess county.)

Thank you. My line is as follows:
grandfather, Ellis DeGroff b. 26 June 1888 d. 19 April 1919 m. Grutrude Parker 27 Dec. 1911
gr. grandfather Herbert DeGroff b. 14 March 1850 d. 26 April 1916
gr. gr. grandfather Abraham DeGroff b. 10 March 1810 Owasco, NY d. 27 June
1900 Nunda, NY
wife #1 Sarah Duryea
wife #2 Sarah Perry
3rd. gr. grandfather Abraham DeGroff bap. 28 Nov. 1779 d. 6 June 1811 according to the will he refers to his wife as Tiny. However, in the Town of Flemming history, his wife is listed as Martha Whitbeck. Also, on the death certificate for his son, Abraham, his mother is listed at Tiny Van Tine. I suppose this could be a second wife but I can find no record of either one.
4th gr grandfather Willaim Swart DeGroff.
Any information you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Nancy

General Notes (Wife)
2/14/2005
There is now some doubt as to whether Tiny married David Parcel. The death certificate seems to indicate that Abraham DeGroff bap. 28 Nov. 1779 d. 6 June 1811 is her husband. It may be a second marriage.
