According to information gleaned from documents at the Avery-Copp House Museum, Groton, Conn. Alonzo or Alonso Vantine married Sally Steele Smith (25 June 1860 - 1906?). She was the dau. of Murray Wells Smith (15 Nov. 1834 Brooklyn, NY - d.?) and Christine A. Ackerman, who m. 29 July 1856. I think Sally Steele Smith may have been their only child and that they may have divorced. Have any of their descendants been in touch? Thanks, Mary Beth Baker (not a relation).
