Carol, thanks so much for sending all that info. It is VERY much
appreciated. I have seen Ted Snedeker on the Dutch bb and have contacted him
about other lines. But I guess I am a very basic person; i.e., can only keep
one ball in the air at a time, and wasn't thinking Van Tine, so will get back
to him. Thanks for the suggestion, a good one. Oops, just remembered. I
had contacted him re Snedeker, and he was stumped on my Maria. Aren't we
all???? ohwell .... another door will open some time.

Now, Samuel VAN TINE and his wife, Maria SNEDEKER, are also buried in St.
Peter's Episcopal Churchyard, Spotswood, NJ. I have seen and photographed
their graves, as right next to them are the graves for Nicholas VAN WICKLE
and his wife, Catherine VAN TINE, daughter of Samuel.

Nicolas VAN WICKLE, son of John VAN WICKLE and Ann RUE, was born
December 18, 1769 in NJ and died December 22, 1848 in South Amboy, NJ
Catherine VAN TINE was born about 1773 and died September 18, 1835

They had the following children:
Samuel Van Tine VAN WICKLE, born December 25, 1793, d. Oct 25, 1865
mar Sarah C. SMITH, then Catherine SMITH (sisters)
Maria VAN WICKLE, born February 4, 1796, d. March 10, 1884 (unmarried)
Isaac VAN WICKLE, born about 1806, died Nov 1, 1873
mar Sarah ___
John N. VAN WICKLE, born about 1810

While a birth record has not been found for Isaac (my ancestor), there are
plenty of land documents mentioning all children together -- Samuel, Maria,
Isaac and John. Isaac and Maria are buried together in St. Peter's
Episcopal Churchyard, next to their parents. Samuel is buried with his wives
in another Spotswood cemetery, I believe. I have seen his grave too.

Harry Macy, Jr. of the NYG&B (who happens to be a Van Wickle) corresponded
with me for awhile and he was the one who told me that Samuel, Isaac, Maria
and John were definitely siblings, according to his records. As a distant
cousin Van Wickle, he was very very kind to help me. He wrote a series of
articles (3) on the Van Wickle family which appeared in the NYG&B about
two-three years ago.

Isaac and his wife Sarah had three children, the oldest was Stephen VAN
WICKLE who was my great grandfather, but I don't think you want to go any
further because we have dropped out of VAN TINE a long time ago.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. And THANK YOU
for all your help. It is MUCH appreciated. Isn't this the BEST hobby in the
WORLD??? I love it.

Patty, NY

Ms Yocom,

I've been digitizing some old photos in my family's possessions.

I ran across some Van Tine photos. We have them because Abraham married Eliza Jane Snell. Eliza's sister Sarah is my line.

I don't "do" genealogy. I dabble at it.

I found the name Van Tine or Vantine unique and so looked for contacts.

I have not fully compiled what I digitized but can pull most of the pictures out of file if you are interested in them.

If you have dial up let me know because I wouldn't want to dump many files on you at a time.
