Albert Frederick Van Tine Sr.

Albert Frederick Van Tine Sr. passed away December 24, 2008 at the age of 81. He was born in Beacon, NY July 30, 1927. He married Lois Reed November 9, 1947, moving his family to the valley in 1957 where he worked for Garrett Gas Turbines, retiring in 1988 to east Mesa. Albert served on the vestry at Saint Marks Episcopal Church and frequently ushered as well. He also became known as the "Cookie Man" while baking for the East Valley Child Crisis Center. He is survived by his wife Lois, sons Albert of Salem, OR, John of Mesa, and Steve of Colorado Springs, CO, as well as two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial will be held January 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Saint Marks Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Banner Gardens Hospice Home Care, 7231 E. Broadway Rd., Mesa, AZ 85208 or Saint Marks Episcopal Church, 322 N. Horne St, Mesa, AZ 85203.
