Mary Jane Walton (Van Tyne) Walton, age 76, passed away on Friday, April 2, 1999 in Jackson, Tennessee. She was born on October 24, 1922 in Elkhart, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Hilda (Friend) Van Tyne. She was raised in Kalamazoo and attended Nazarene Catholic School. Her summers were spent at Gun Lake growing up at her grandma Lochers'. She was united in marriage to Albert Edward Walton on July 6, 1943. He preceded her in death on Fevruary 25, 1976. They moved to Gun Lake after the death of her grandma. She rented out cottages and fishing boats (which became known as Walton's Resort) while her husband Ed worked at Middleville Engineering. She was a life member of the Hastings O.E.S. and the united Methodist Church in Bolivar, Tennessee, (Where they moved to in 1963 when Middleville Engineering moved there). Mrs. Walton is survived by her children, Dave and (Sherry) Benedict of Wayland, Ron and (Christy) Geiger of Freeport, David Walton of Grayling, Bill Walton of Middleton, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; one brother, Vernon Van Tyne of California; special friends, Don Blair and Judy Russell of Middleton, Tennessee. Graveside Services were held Tuesday, April 6, 1999 in Bolivar, Tennessee with Reverend David Cooper officiating.

Deceased Name: VanTyne Sr. R VanTyne Sr., Richard "Dick" VanTyne Sr. passed away July 7, 2003 at his home in Whitney, Texas after a battle with renal cell cancer. Dick was born in Rio Hondo, TX, the son of Charles and Lucile (Mallernee) VanTyne. He graduated from Texas A&M and was a member of the Singing Cadets. He married Kathleen Allphin while at A&M. Dick retired in 1997 from Siemens Electrocom. He is survived by his wife Kathy, children Richard Jr. and wife Sharon of Pilot Point, David and wife Cecile of Richardson, Sheri of Whitney, Michael and wife Laura of Salt Lake City, UT, and grandchildren Eric, J.D. and Stefani. Visitation will be held at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, 201 N. Bosque, Whitney, TX on Thursday, July 10 from 7-9pm. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 11 at 11:00am at Alexander Cemetery near Bryan, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances to the White Bluff Chapel, P.O. Box 72B, Whitney, TX 76692.

Mr. VAN TINE was born April 9, 1910, in Prairieville, the son of Frank and Anna Ray VAN TINE and had lived most of his life in the Delton-Prairieville areas.  He was an engineeer in the Merchant Marines for the past 25 years.  He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Herbert (Edith) SCHOOLENBERG; a niece, Mrs. Charles (Barbara) YOUNG; a nephew, Steven NUNEMAKER, all of Delton.  Friends are being received after noon Tuesday, at the Williams Funeral Home, Delton, where services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Gorden Showers officating.  Interment in Prairieville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Delton United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
