Thomas A. Vantine, 66, of 216 Walnut St., Kane, died Saturday morning, Aug. 4, 2007 at the Kane Community Hospital.

Born Jan. 18, 1941 in Kane, he was the son of George Alan and Mae Norma Swanson Vantine. On Aug. 8, 1987 in Kane, he married the former Mary Ann McCullough, who survives.

Mr. Vantine was a logging contractor in the Kane area for most of his life. A charter member of the Kane Area High School Choraliers, he was also a well-known and much sought-after soloist for many years.

He was a member of Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kane, where he also sang in the choir.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a brother, James E. Vantine of Kane; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call today, Monday, Aug. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc., in Kane, and may attend a funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tabor Ev. Lutheran Church with the Rev. Sigmund Decker, retired Lutheran pastor, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tabor Ev. Lutheran Church, 200 Dawson St., Kane, PA, 16735, or to the McKean Co. SPCA, Glenwood Avenue, Bradford, PA, 16701.

MEADVILLE, Pa. -Geri died peacefully at Meadville Medical Center on Aug. 20th following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ethel Williams, her brother, Richard and her husband and best friend of 62 years, Thomas A. Van Tine.

Geri was born in Oceola Mills, Pa. on March 12, 1923. She enjoyed her varied careers at Bell Telephone Comp., Detroy Press and Mercer County Manpower. She was an avid fan of pro football. Games of every description gave her great pleasure, as a high school student, she won several medals playing ping-pong and delighted in reminding people of these awards.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and devoted caregiver, Patricia Van Tine of the home and Kittanning, Pa., her daughter Laura Durham of Rocky Mount and grandsons Alex Durham of Rocky Mount and Ryan Oliver of Greenville, N.C. Sisters, Ruth ( Donald) Yensan of Clearwater, Fla., Dorothy ( Robert) Finan of Alden, NY., Brother in law, Colin Van Tine of Cresskill, N.J. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 29 at 7 pm at the Moritz Funeral Home, 348 Closter Dock Rd., Closter, N.J. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning at Moritz. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Cemetery, Paramus, N.J.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount, N.C. or the charity of your choice.
