Aileen O. VanTine Beatty, 77, of Worthington, formerly of New Kensington, died Monday (April 28, 2003) in Sugar Creek Nursing Home, where she lived since 1997, following a lengthy illness.

She was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Lower Burrell.

She was a 1943 graduate of New Kensington High School.

Mrs. Beatty enjoyed reading, playing cards and word puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Melissa (Jack) Smith of Lower Burrell; a brother, Dave VanTine of Front Royal, Va.; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth (Kenneth) Bender of Chantilly, Va.

She also is survived by two granddaughters, Kylie Smith and Courtney Kobelenske; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Rae Kobelenske.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert "Bill" Beatty in 1994; and her parents, David and Lula Johnston VanTine.

Private visitation will be conducted Wednesday at ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Private services will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Faust, pastor of Grace Community United Presbyterian Church. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
