I had this individual as Abraham Knight for many years, but I believe that was wrong. His name should be William. In that event, I have to wonder if this is still the son of Charles or if this person belongs to a different family and the Abraham of Charles' family is unidentified.

The Paupers of Somerset County: 1760-1800
by Marc A. Mappen
(Journal of the Rutgers University Library, June 1970, pp. ??)

Eastern Precinct Poor Book, entries
Mappen says that Jacob was first in the County Poor Books in 1773, but he doesn't say when Jacob disappeared from the books. Jacob's son Charles was first on the Poor Books in 1796 according to Mappen.

Mappen used the Poor Books and the Charles C. Gardner, Genealogical Encylcopedia Draft, Notebook FOA-FOR, among numerous other sources.
