General Notes for Child Edward Benbrook

Benbrook Family Notes

The date for the marriage of Edward and Catharine is correct, as is the date for the birth of William. Evidently, they could not get married for some reason - most likely Catharine's age - and waited until she was of age.

Lizzie Cole's book: Benbrook Reunion [Labor Day 3, Sept 1923] A reunion of the daughters of the late Edward Benbrook and their families, was held in the Frelinghuysen woods on Labor Day. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. S. Stevens and son, Harold, of Raritan; Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Holman and son, Howard, of Somerville; Mr. and Mrs. John Brokaw, of Pennington; Mrs. George E. Cole, of Newark; Mr. and Mrs. Gail Van Nostrand, of Somerville; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dilts, of Lebanon; Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Van Tine, Jr., and children, of Raritan, and Mrs. L. Amerman, of Lambertsville. Refreshments were served and games played to the enjoyment of all.
