General Notes for Child Johannis Vantine

The connection to both wives is extremely tentative.

1. We know this Johannis existed.

2. A Johannis married both of these women and lived with them in NYC.

3. This appears to be the only Johannis available, but there may be a line I am currently unaware of with a Johannis.

"Martin and Sarah Brice VanTine were born in New Jersey, and came to Fulton County, where he died in Yates City in Knox County. They had lived in Canton for awhile. I am looking for any informationon Martin and Sarah from Census Records, or any other records where I can prove who Martins brothers and siters were. The story we hear, is that Martin travelled alot in a covered wagon, and Sarah stayed at home. Martin travelled alot between Peoria and Iowa. If anyone has any information, I would love to hear from you. Martin was born in 1839 in New Jersey, and died in 1914. Sarah was born in 1842, and died in 1907.

Message Board Post:

Georgia, I apologize that it took me so long to reply. I finally came back
to check my query. Sort of slow aren't I?

Sarah Boice and Martin VanTine were my great grandparents. Wilmer VanTine was my grandfather and Woodrow was his son, my father. I remember my dad talking about Aunt Kate and he did say that she had married George Middleton. Wilmer and Nellie had six children, which only two are still living. Willard is in a nursing home in Illinois and will be 97 May 10. Neva resides in Nebraska.

I have
been trying to find the names of Martin and Sarah's parents. I do have
a picture of Sarah Boice.

I appreciate any information you can give me.
Feel free to contact me at my email.

Sincerely,
Cheryl
