My name is Alan Buttery. I recently discovered the rootsweb site and the Buttery genealogy, with your name attached to it. I noticed that our family branch of the tree ends with my grandfather, Frederick Buttery. I believe I can help fill in some blanks after my grandfather, who was the last owner of the Buttery sawmill in Silvermine, CT. He passed away in 1956 at 84 years of age. If I read the tree correctly, we are descended from "Colonel" William Buttery, via Zachariah, Silas, John W., and my grandfather, Frederick.

Frederick had two sons, Ralph Everett (my father) 1907/1979, and my uncle, John Chester, (better known as Chet) 1911/1985. Chet had one son, John Wilson, (1937/1981). Ralph had five children, Robert Donald (Bob) (1930/1993), Betsy Ann, 1935, Alan Davey, 1936, Carol Louise Buttery Sciaudone, (1943/1993) and Doris Vera, 1945. Ralph was married to Doris Vera Young (1905/1960) around 1928.



I am curious as to how the Buttery's tie in with the the names on the web site, "The Vantine/Vantyne Descendants of Carel Fonteyn and Cathryn de Baile".
